Description
I had randomly selected my boss's wife for our office's secret Santa during Christmas. We had gotten their 6-month-old son's footprints for me to make a sweatshirt as his mother's gift. In the process he smeared his toes on the canvas under the paper we were using, and it was in the shape of a Hummingbird. I added the colored flower and saw the metaphor for my recovery journey. In very early recovery my mind was a chaotic canvas, and it took a lot of effort and inner work to make it a serine and calm place. This painting represents the calm place I've made my mind today and the help that others gave to help me get there.
