Description
In my recovery I started rocking hunting on the beaches of the Great Lakes for recreation. It's something I love to do, gets me outside, and there's always something beautiful to find. One day in the summer of 2024 I was on Van's Beach in Leland Michigan where I found a stone that resembled Michigan's lower peninsula. After packing up and driving south to Point Betsie Light House in Frankfort Michigan I found a similarly sized stone that resembled Michigan's upper peninsula, on the same day! It was a pivotal moment for me realizing that the life of wellness I now live has finally let me feel a sense of home in my own skin and the area I live in for the first time. I have framed this photo to remind myself of that moment.
